Welcome to Orientation

Dear Mason Family:
We are pleased to welcome you to the George Mason University Family. The OFPS Staff is excited to invite you to attend Orientation with your new student! The George Mason University Orientation Program is designed to assist students in an easy transition to the university community while also attending to the needs of parents and family members as they transition with their students. Families have a vested interest in their student's success and their transition is important to us.

During Orientation, we run a Family Program concurrent with our student program during sessions, with the exception of Transfer Evening dates. These sessions offer family members a wide range of perspectives on life at Mason and serve as a good foundation to building a relationship with the University. Although we do not offer a Family Program during our Transfer Evening session, parents and families are still welcome to attend.  There is a fee for all family members or guests who attend Orientation with a new student.  Details of the program and fee information can be found in the Orientation publications and online reservation form.

Welcome to George Mason University!

These new additions are designed to provide you with a vibrant and exciting environment in which to learn and live.

 Mason will continue to grow with you during the coming years… and some growing pains are to be expected. There may be times when your walk to class takes a little longer or you parking space is further away than you would like. These small hassles will be relatively short-lived. And your reward?
