Live Virtual Orientation

June 29th July 23rd  

This event serves as Virtual Orientation Part 2 for students and our Live Virtual Family Orientation program for families & supporters. Enjoy your joint Orientation experience! 

Live Virtual Orientation components for Summer 2021 is divided into two parts with the goal making sure you have all the information you need to be successful as a new Mason student while making the information more digestible and reducing screen fatigue. 

Virtual Orientation Part 2 will take place on: 

  • June 29th – for students who attend a June Part 1 session  
  • July 23rd – for students who attend a July Part 1 session  

Students do not have to pre-register for this event. As these programs approach, more information will be sent to you via email to prepare. 

Unlike your live Virtual Orientation Part 1, this event will focus on your transition/success outside of the classroom and families are invited to participate with you! This provides a great opportunity for students and families to have a shared Virtual Orientation experience while also allowing you the ability to divide and conquer to get as much information as possible. Family members should register themselves to receive special event information. 

There will be several parts in the program where you can choose your own adventure!  

We encourage you to plan your schedule below and watch the corresponding short videos in advance of this session. This will allow for a more informed experience and the ability to ask more tailored questions based on what you are interested in attending during breakout times. 

Students should arrive on-time to the program and hold 5:30pm – 8:00pm EDT on their respective day.

For your Virtual Orientation Part 1, refer to your Blackboard course which is available to you two days prior to your Part 1 date as selected on our reservation system.

For Summer 2021, family members and supporters will be able to experience Family Orientation in two ways: Self-Paced & Live!  

Our Live Virtual Family Orientation sessions will take place on June 29th and July 23rdfrom 5:30-8:00pm EDT. This program will provide family members and supporters with the opportunity to engage in an Orientation experience with their student on their desired date, aligning with your student’s Virtual Orientation Part 2experience.   

This program requires pre-registration for each family member by clicking the button below. More information will be shared with you in your confirmation email.

Participants will have the opportunity to hear from campus department and resources that serve specific student populations in order to learn more about what Mason is like for these respective groups and the services they can take part in
