In order to have a successful orientation experience, it is critical you bring the following items:
1. Your G Number
Make sure you have your Mason G# handy during orientation. Some students choose to keep it on paper, in an email, or on their phone. If you do not know your G#, contact the Office of Admissions at (703) 993-2400 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
2. Mason NetID and Patriot Pass Password
These are items you set up when completing the Winter Orientation Checklist. You will need them handy when registering for courses at orientation. If you haven’t already, make sure you set up your Patriot Pass password.
3. Photo Identification
If you plan to receive your Mason ID during orientation, please note that you will be asked to provide photo identification (ID, license, or passport). We recommend that you submit a photo online ahead of time. You can also visit the Mason Card office to get your photo done on campus.
4. Comfortable Clothing
Orientation does require some time both inside and outside. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes for your visit.
5. Immunization Records
Student Health Services must receive your immunization records before the first day of classes. We encourage you to bring completed copies with you to your orientation session. Failure to turn in your Immunization Records before the deadline will result in a hold on your account, which will prevent you from registering for the next semester’s classes.
In order to avoid registration delays, download and submit a copy of the Immunization Record form to Student Health Services. Their office is located in Student Union Building I, Room 2300.
6. Admissions Documentation and Transfer Credit Evaluation
We recommend you bring any documentation from Admissions, New Student and Family Programs, or paperwork from an academic advisor.
For Transfer Students, you should bring your Transfer Credit Evaluation or any unofficial transcripts from your previous institutions (including current/incomplete coursework). Evaluations should be completed at least one week prior to your registered orientation date. If you have any questions, contact the Office of Admissions at (703) 993-2400 or visit their Evaluation of Transfer Credit webpage.
7. Parking Pass for Orientation
The orientation parking pass allows you to park in the specified parking lot for free. This pass is specific to your Mason Orientation date and to a specified parking lot. Please park in the noted location and be sure to use this pass to avoid any parking issues. Click and download the pass below and place on your driver-side dashboard on Orientation day. Please note we do not validate parking in any of the parking decks on campus.
