Our Student Leader Teams play an integral part of our office’s success and serve in many areas of orientation.

Patriot Leaders

The Patriot Leaders (PLs) are responsible for welcoming and assisting new members of the Mason community. This includes incoming freshmen, transfers, and their family members. These students must exhibit leadership qualities both inside and outside the classroom, be full of Mason spirit, passionate about helping people and possess a desire to develop their own leadership potential. Student Coordinators

The Student Coordinator (StuCo) team consists of undergraduate students who have proven their leadership ability by serving students, faculty, staff and parents/families of the Mason community by having previously served as a Patriot Leader. More specifically, these students hold in highest regard a sense of passion, pride and commitment in terms of creating a successful transition process for first year and transfer students of George Mason University. These individuals assist in the planning and development of certain programs during orientation and act as peer supervisors to the Patriot Leaders.

Quill Camp Coordinators

The Quill Camp Coordinator (QuillCo) team consists of undergraduate students who have proven their leadership ability by serving students, faculty, staff and parents/families of the Mason community. More specifically, these students hold in highest regard a sense of passion, pride and commitment in terms of creating a successful transition process for first year students of George Mason University. These individuals assist in the planning and development of programming for the extended orientation summer Quill Camps.

Marketing and Design Team

The Marketing and Design Team consists of three student leader positions – Graphic Designer/Photographer, Videographer, and Graphic Designer/Digital Content Creator. These students are responsible for shaping and cultivating the narrative of New Student and Family Programs through imagery, video, social media, and other forms of marketing and outreach.

Office Assistants

The Office Assistants (OAs) are responsible for executing daily office tasks and serving as the first point of contact for new students, families, faculty and staff. They provide main reception and office support, perform administrative duties and assist with the preparation of mass mailings, program confirmation correspondence and reservation processing.
